andy brown 16.03.12.jpgPopular musician and great entertainer, Andy Brown has died.

 

He was 50.

Family spokesperson and friend, Gus Smith, said Andy passed away Friday evening at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare after suffering from pneumonia.

Smith said Andy, affectionately known as ‘Muzukuru’ in music circles, had just returned from Switzerland and was working on a new album.

Andy was party of the group, Ilanga, together with the likes of Busi Ncube and the late Don Gumbo, before going solo forming his own band, The Storm.

 

Andy became famous with songs such as Mapurisa, Fiona, Daisy, Sweet Chariot, Tongogara and many others.

 

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
