Wedza North Constituency beat Wedza South in the Wedza Zunde Ramambo tournament to win an ambulance donated by Zanu PF Provincial Youth League member, Cde Tino Machakaire.

ZRP Wedza, representing Wedza North edged Chikurumadziva of Wedza South 5-4 on penalties after the match had ended nil-all in regulation time.

Warriors legends, Benjani Mwaruwaru and Harlington Shereni were some of the spectators of the match.

“I am very encouraged by the donation to improve health services in Wedza by Tinmak. I urge other people to emulate him in developing their areas,” Shereni said.

Cde Machakaire said the ambulance is meant to improve health delivery systems in the district.

“I have come to deliver the ambulance as per my pledge to Chief Svosve and Chief Ruzane last time. I hope this donation will help our people have access to basic health services,” he said.

Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Cde David Musabayana and Chief Svosve commended Machakaire for the donation.

“This is a great day for the people of Wedza, please join me in thanking Tinmak for the donation,” the Minister said.

Wedza district, which is one of the few districts in the province without a district hospital, had only one ambulance which caused logistical challenges in times of an emergency.
