zim vs sri lanka.jpgAll is set for what promises to be an exhilarating encounter in the final of the Micro-max Cup triangular series when hosts, Zimbabwe take on Sri Lanka at Harare Sports Club tomorrow.

Still basking in the glory of Monday’s 8 wicket victory over Sri-Lanka, Zimbabwe will be aiming to replicate the same form when the two teams clash in the micro-max final.

With the two sides’ head to head standing at 1-1 in the triangular series, Zimbabwe will be counting on Brendon Taylor to reproduce the sparkling form which saw him record a career best 119 runs not out on Monday.

The century which was Taylor’s second ODI hundred, saw him surpass his previous best of 118 scored against Bangladesh in 2009, as he was voted man of the match for the 3rd time in the series.

Cricket analyst Dean Duplesis believes the hosts who seem to have matured in their batting, have what it takes to overcome the Asians in an encounter which promises to produce fireworks.

Despite being humiliated in a 9 wicket loss against Sri-Lanka at Queens Sports Club in the first battle between the two sides, momentum is tilted in Zimbabwe’s favour though the Asian giants will argue that they were missing some key players on Monday.

Zimbabwe which has lost only 1 of their 4 games in the Micro-max Cup will be hoping to continue with the impressive run and land the Micro-max crown.

Sri-Lanka which has won 2 and lost 2 will have no push overs though, with the likes of Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan expected to fight for the tourists cause.
