Virginia Tobacco farmers have started delivering their crop to the country’s auction floors in preparation for Tuesday’s mop up sales.

In a telephone interview with ZBC News, TIMB Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andrew Matibiri confirmed the floors are ready for the commencement of the sells on Tuesday and encouraged all farmers to deliver their crop.

By the close of the main sells on the 18th of August this year, 131 million kilogrammes of the golden leaf had been sold at an estimated value of US$359 million.
