The opening of a new session of parliament is a significant procedure for the legislature as the President will announce a new legislative agenda, including Bills that will be brought before the houses and protocols to be ratified.

Meanwhile, roads leading to the parliament building will be temporarily closed to motorists from 6 am to 2.30 pm.
