The Zimbabwe National Youth Games organising committee has expressed satisfaction with preparations for the sporting extravaganza whose official launch is scheduled for this Friday in Hwange.

Matabeleland North Province is confident of hosting a memorable tournament with the organising committee having recently visited some of the facilities to get an appreciation of the state of infrastructure.

Mindful of the request from the national patron of the games President Robert Mugabe to ensure a successful event, the games organising committee chief executive officer, Burzil Dube said they have done enough homework and confidence is high the province will not disappoint.

Meanwhile, a launch event is scheduled for the 21st of July in Hwange where the provincial patron of the national youth games Cde Cain Mathema is expected to officiate.

The organising committee has appealed to the corporate world to ensure the success of both the launch event and the actual games.

The rebranded Zimbabwe National Youth Games which are set to held from the 17th to the 27th of August will incorporate new sport codes which include, rugby, hockey, cricket, swimming and table tennis among other disciplines.
