A weigh in process has been held ahead of the Kalakoda Kwese Fight Night Boxing Extravaganza this Friday (tomorrow) with Zimbabwean boxers saying they have put in every effort not to disappoint.
The venue is the City Sports Centre and Zimbabwean boxers are already bragging they will deliver a night to remember for boxing lovers.
Two national title fights are on the cards one featuring a female bout between Chiedza Nikita Homakoma and Monalisa Sibanda in the super lightweight category.
The second pits, Tinashe ‘Chairman Tit’ Madziwane who fights for the super bantamweight national title against Ronald Tamani.
Outside these World Boxing Federation (WBF) All Africa holder and Zimbabwe boxer to face DRC’s Djokito Sakuji in a non title fight, Sting Gonerenda said it’s now time to put Zimbabwe on the map as a top boxing nation.
“I am a champion and i am ready to face anyone. I have been preparing for the match,” he said.
Fellow countryman and WBF Africa heavyweight champion Elvis Moyo added he will give boxing fans a special tomorrow by defeating his Ukrainian opponent, Maskim Pedyura.
“I think the boxing showpiece is doing a credible job by slotting fights to keep boxers active. Hopefully i will deliver a special Friday for my fans,” said Moyo.
With battle lines have been drawn and the weigh in complete, boxing fanatics now wait in anticipation of an action packed night that will once again ignite enthusiasm for the popular sport.
