heroes acre 06.08.10.jpgThe Harare Metropolitan Province organising committee says all is set for this year’s Heroes Day commemorations and is urging all political parties to mobilise their people to attend the national commemorations at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.

 

 

With only a few days before the nation commemorates Heroes Day, the Harare metropolitan province organising committee has urged all Zimbabweans across the political divide to come together and commemorate the supreme sacrifices made by gallant sons and daughters of the soil during the liberation struggle.

 

Harare Metropolitan province Provincial Administrator, Mr. Alfred Tome appealed to political parties to mobilise people to come in their numbers to celebrate and reflect on contributions made by the country’s fallen heroes.

 

“We are appealing to political parties to conscientise their members on the importance of the day and urge them to come and join the rest of the nation in commemorating the day.

 

20 buses will ferry people from usual pick up points in Harare to the national shrine.

 

The buses will start shuttling during the early hours of the morning as everyone is expected to be seated at the national shrine by 9 am.

 

Heroes Day is a day set aside to commemorate the sacrifice made by illustrious sons and daughters of the soil who fought in the liberation struggle, the second Chimurenga.
