Preparations for Culture Week commemorations that will run from the 19th to the 25th of this month are at an advanced stage in all provinces.

The week-long programme will be punctuated with various activities that depict the diverse cultures as well as cultivate a sense of belonging in the process instilling national pride.

The national launch will be held in Matabeleland South on Saturday 19 May 2018 at Bolamba Culture Centre in Gungwe, Gwanda South.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Mr Prince Mupazviriho said the hosting Chief Mathe is working with the local organising committee to ensure the success of the programme.

“Culture Week seeks to stimulate Zimbabweans on the need for co-existence and inter-cultural dialogue to enable social cohesion,” he said.

Some of the activities at the official launch will include, Chiefs procession, Art and Craft Fair, traditional dances, contemporary performances, praise poetry, music, food exhibitions and herbal medicine exhibitions.
