As the year comes to an end, members of the business community will next week converge in the Eastern Highlands to deliberate on issues affecting the growth of the economy and map the way forward.

In an interview in the capital, Business Council of Zimbabwe Chairman, Mr. David Govere said the country’s economy has performed well though efforts should be directed towards achieving double digit growth in the forthcoming year.

Mr. Govere said the three-day conference will focus on how to accelerate production and returns in agriculture, mining and tourism sectors which are the major economic drivers.

The Business Council of Zimbabwe is a grouping of nine associations in the country formed three years ago with a view of engaging government with one voice.

Stakeholders in the country are currently working towards achieving a US$100 billion economy by 2030 and efforts are being directed towards ensuring a holistic contribution from all provinces.
