All is set for the Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) elective annual general meeting with indications that only one post will be up for grabs as the others have seen candidates entering unopposed.
Following an eventful season characterised by numerous highs and lows, the term of the current board running the affairs of the sport of basketball in Bulawayo grinds to a halt this Saturday during the association’s elective annual general meeting.
According to the BBA secretary general, only one post, that of president technical commission will be contested for with the incumbent Ndumiso Mabhena seeking re-election while Theodore Wheale and Sinda Mono have thrown in their names vying for the post.
The unopposed post is that of the president where Darlington Chasara is set to be confirmed as the new president, replacing Opportunity Moyo, Admire Chafa who was the treasurer general will switch roles with the outgoing secretary general Howard Phangwana.
Shermaine Chirinda also went in unopposed to take the post of president of the competitions commission with the athletes’ commission presidency going to Bulelo Mangoma.
Besides the election, other issues on the spotlight will include the just ended season activity report and financials, with discussions on the format of the next season also taking centre stage.
