The newly-appointed Chef d’Mission to the All Africa Games, veteran sports administrator Custom Kachambwa has made a passionate plea to the corporate sector and well-wishers to support the Zimbabwe team for the continental sporting showpiece to be held in Mozambique in September.Speaking to ZBC News in the capital, following his meeting with the Sport and Recreation Commission, Custom Kachambwa said though government has released some money for the games, there is still a great need for financial injection, especially from the corporate sector as the money is not adequate.
Kachambwa said some four sporting associations were yet to register with the organisers, despite the deadline being this Thursday.
A verification committee to ensure that athletes have indeed qualified for the various disciplines they are competing in is now in place.
