The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has promoted Group Captain Walter Chikukwa to the rank of Air Commodore.

Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe, Air Marshal Elson Moyo conferred Air Commodore Chikukwa with his new rank, saying his promotion is in recognition of his dedication to duty.

He urged him to remain focused, loyal and dedicated to country and duty.

Air Commodore commended the Air Force of Zimbabwe command for recognising him and pledged to serve the nation in terms of the demands of the constitution.

A holder of Masters in Business Administration, and a Masters in Development Studies, Air Commodore Chikukwa is a liberation fighter who has served in the force for the past 38 years. He attended several military courses and was decorated with various medals throughout his career.
