Preparations for the upcoming inaugural Africa Youths in Tourism set for Bulawayo from the 6th to the 9th of September are well on course with organisers stressing the need to take advantage of the event to empower the young people.
The event is expected to host over 1000 delegates drawn from the African continent.
It will play a pivotal role in empowering youths in the tourism sector.
Already a number of African countries have confirmed their participation with indications China, Russia and other Arabic countries have also been invited to the conference.
The national chairperson of the Zimbabwe Youths in Tourism, Mr Stewart Mutizwa described the event as historic and crucial if youths were to find their footing in the sector.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority has also expressed its full weight in support of the conference.
This year’s theme is, ‘The Role of Youths in Sustainable Tourism Development’.
Different stakeholders met at the ZITF which is the venue of the conference in order to assess the facilities.
Over 100 exhibition stands are expected to be set up.
