sizzlaaaaa.jpgAs the continent marks Africa Day, Zimbabwean youth have been urged to take a proactive role in participating in issues that have to do with the development of the country and the continent as a whole.

The statement comes as Zimbabwean youth prepare to hold a musical gala at Harare’s Avondale Shopping Centre.

As Zimbabwe joins the rest of the continent in celebrating Africa Day, the country’s youths have been urged to be on the forefront in participating in issues to do with the development of the country and the continent.

Zimbabwe Youth Council Board member, Miss Melissa Ndlovu said the youth should take pride in being African and join the rest of the continent in celebrating the day.

“We are urging youths to actively participate in issues that have to do with developing the continent, we are advocating for youth empowerment and for youth to actively participate in essential issues such as politics and economics,”said Miss Ndlovu

To mark the celebrations there is going to be a music concert organised by the Zimbabwe Youth Council at Avondale Shopping Centre in Harare. A youth talk show will also be held at the same place.

Running under the theme “Towards a decade of youth development in Africa” this year’s musical event is going to see a number of urban groovers such as Stunner, D. Flex and Cindy entertaining the youth.
