The three Acturus Mine security guards who are accused of shooting and seriously injuring gold panners at the mine on Sunday appeared at the Goromonzi Magistrates Court facing attempted murder charges.
The three suspects Learnmore Matangira, 29, Ernest Kavhu, 39, and George Mahufa, 57, appeared before magistrate Seres Chakanyuka who remanded them in custody to the 18th of September.
George Manhidza appeared for the state.
The shooting incident occurred Sunday morning when about 30 gold panners, illegally operating at Goromonzi RDC offices compound in Acturus were approached by 5 armed security guards.
The guards belong to Braising Security which is contracted to provide security at Acturus Mine.
It is not clear what exactly happened leading to the guards opening fire on the panners seriously injuring four.
