The newly selected 170 member Team Zimbabwe to represent the country at next monthâ€™s 10th All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique has been hailed as a great and positive development for sport in Zimbabwe.The selection of Team Zimbabwe has been hailed as positive and objective as it includes the cream of the countryâ€™s sporting disciplines.
University of Zimbabwe Sports Director, Lyfe Chemhere says the team is going to make a huge impact at the games.
Analysts have given the team â€˜thumbs upâ€ adding that sport in Zimbabwe is growing. The games will be held in Maputo, Mozambique from the 3rd to the 18th of September.
Zimbabweâ€™s Olympic medal hopeful, long jumper and sprinter Ngonidzashe Makusha will get a chance to show African athletes the stuff he is made of at the All Africa Games in Maputo next month.
Fellow sprinters Gabriel Mvumvure, Brian Dzingai and Tinashe Mutanga will form Zimbabweâ€™s 4X100metre relay team vying for a medal at the games.
The 190 member delegation comprises 10 female managers and coaches and 76 female athletes.
The team will go into camp on the 24th of August at the Belvedere Teacherâ€™s College in the capital ahead of their departure for the games in Maputo, on the 31st of August.
