It was a relief for beneficiaries who received wheel chair donations from the Rotary Club of Harare central together with their rotarians from Rotary Club of Fresno in Califonia.
75 of the 450 wheelchairs were given out to people from different provinces of the country at the St Giles rehabilitation centre.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the ZBC News said the donation is a blessing to them as they did not have the capacity to buy wheelchairs for themselves.
Speaking on the official handing over of the wheelchairs, St Giles marketing and public relations officer, Salome Masauro said the donation comes at a crucial time when a lot of people require such assistance.
Rotary Club Harare central president, Anne Nyakunu said the main thrust of their donation is to reach out to people who do not afford the facility.
The donated wheelchairs ranged from small size 12 to the biggest sizes to cater for all ages.
