33 schools in Chivi have received drip irrigation equipment to sustain nutritional gardens in the perennially dry area.

With the national feeding programme launched in schools across the country, nutritional gardens now play a significant role.

The schools were grateful to receive the equipment, describing it as an important development initiative.

Chivi Rural District Council Chairperson, Dr Killer Zivhu, who handed over the irrigation equipment to the schools, said the Zanu PF government believes in development which supports the country’s young people.

In an area which is generally dry, irrigation has always been presented as the last solution to creating sustainable agriculture in the country.
