In a bid to correct historical distortions that were made concerning the liberation struggle, more players are producing documentaries that depict the true Zimbabwean history through film.

After the successful production of the film, “Chinhoyi7” to be launched this Friday, more producers have come on board to document and give the correct account of what happened during the liberation struggle.

Aeron Nhongo who is also working on a film titled, ‘The Struggle for Freedom’ said their thrust is to produce a film that portrays and give the real facts of the liberation struggle with the aid of eye witnesses and other players like the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

“Our thrust is to produce a movie that is not biased but that mainly talks about the facts of the liberation war,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Culture is also on a drive to correct cultural and historical distortions that were made by the colonisers.
