Stakeholders in the tobacco industry will tomorrow converge in the capital for the inaugural Tobacco Business Conference aimed at unlocking the tobacco value chain.

Tobacco is one of the top foreign currency earners in the country and farmers should take into cognisance the value the golden leaf contributes towards economic growth said organisers of the conference, Cardinal Chartered Accountants (Zimbabwe).

Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Minister Retired Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri will headline the conference with other speakers drawn from the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board, Providence Human Capital, banks and insurance companies among others.

Running under the theme: ‘Harnessing the Tobacco Farming Business for Economic Turnaround and Economic Growth’, the conference comes at a time farmers are preparing for the tobacco selling season which commences on the 21st of this month.
