Church urged to nurture youths to be responsible

Churches have been urged to nurture youths in their congregations so that they become responsible adults amid rising cases of drug abuse and irresponsible behaviours. Many youths today are failing to reach their full potential and even to live long as they are indulging in dangerous activities such as drug abuse. At a Bishop Sports Gala organised by the United Methodist Church youths to celebrate the 69th birthday of their leader, Bishop Eben Nhiwatiwa, the youths were cautioned to guard against being influenced into indulging in activities and behaviours that will choke their lives. With the youth being considered the future of the country as they constitute the greatest proportion of the population, it is sad to note Zimbabwe is losing many youths to HIV and AIDS due tto irresponsible behaviour like unprotected premarital sex. Dr Khupe elected president of MDC-T splinter group

The MDC-T splinter group has held its extra-ordinary congress in Bulawayo and elected a new national standing committee with former MDC-T party vice president Dr Thokozani Khupe as its new president.
