A total of 99 students received certificates after completing a general squad drill and small arms courses at 2 Presidential Guard Battalion in Dzivarasekwa.

Members of the Zimbabwe National Army have been challenged to remain vigilant and execute their duties diligently during the election period.

Addressing graduands during a graduation ceremony at 2 Presidential Guard Battalion, Deputy Director Army Training Colonel Tapiwanashe Chikohora said soldiers should support the organisation’s goals towards complementing government efforts to revive the economy.

“I urge you not be found on the wrong side of the law in the new dispensation,” he said.

Commanding Officer 2 Presidential Guard Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Honesty Mangezi noted that the army needs disciplined members with a clear vision of their mandate which is to safeguard the country’s peace and sovereignty.

The general squad drill and small arms course which started on the 5th of February this year with 101 students saw two of them being returned to their units due to indiscipline.
