The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) says a well trained and equipped defence force is critical in the country’s sovereignty.
Officiating at the graduation of section commanders at 2:2 Infantry Battalion Barracks in Mudzi, guest of honour at the event Colonel Shadreck Chizengwe said training is the major occupation of any professional army during peacetime with a well trained force being critical in protecting the country’s sovereignty.
“To the graduands please remember that this course which you have successfully completed forms a foundation which will enable you to administer, command and control troops in both peace and wartime,” he said.
The course which ran for 20 weeks had an enrolment of 89 officers comprising of 68 males and 19 females.
Some of the areas covered during the course include military law, conventional warfare, first aid, physical training, roles and organisation of army units and low intensity operations.
