Over 800 couples from the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) have reaffirmed their marriage vows, in a move expected to further strengthen the family institution.

The mass celebration held in Mhondoro Ngezi organised by the World Peace Federation was also meant to send the message home that the church is committed to ending the spread of HIV and AIDS as well as commitment to safeguarding marriages.

Couples who spoke to the ZBC News on the sidelines of the ceremony said the most important facet in any relationship is communication.

The organisers of peace blessing ceremony said the event was meant to interrogate challenges facing the family unit as well as reaffirm their marriage vows.

In the world peace blessing ceremonies, newly-weds and couples renewing their vows make a promise as husband and wife to love each other faithfully, live together in peace, and raise up their children and grandchildren in a manner that uphold purity and fidelity.
