Seven passengers were injured when a commuter omnibus rammed into the back of a truck along Simon Mazorodze road in the capital in a suspected case of negligent driving.
According to passengers who were aboard the T3500 minibus, which was travelling from the city center to Glenview, the accident occurred when the driver of a truck that was travelling on the outer lane tried to avoid some commuter buses that were loading passengers at the edge of the road.
The passengers say though the driver of the minibus was not speeding, he failed to apply brakes, resulting in the minibus ramming into the back of the truck.
The commuter omnibus driver ran away from the scene soon after the accident.
Four people had their limbs broken and were admitted to the Harare central hospital.
