President Mugabe’s time

14:40 – Cde Mugabe: “To hire buses for people to come and boo us here. I know who is behind this and we cannot let this continue. Kana vasingadi kuti nditungamirire party, you are free to go, I will not stand in your way.”  

14:33 – Still on factionalism and regionalism: “Hatidi vanhu vanoti kuno kunofanirwa kutongwa nanhingi, uko ndekwanhingi, ahhh, nokuti unoendera kutoilet ikoko woti ndekwako. We will kick you out, hatidi vanhu vanepfungwa dzakadai.”

14:15 – Cde Mugabe congratulates youths who attended the youth conference in Russia, adding that he decided to allow them to use his plane to Russia, while he hires another one to go to Uruguay.

14:12 – President slams those who send their people to come and boo the First Lady. “First Lady vanotaura chokwadi. Tinotukwa nezita raVaMnangagwa, kondakakanganisa here kuita VaMnangagwa Vice President wangu. Kana ndakakanganisa ndivadonedze nhasi chaiye? Unonzwa kuMasvingo uko kuchinzi kuno hakusi kwaVaMugabe, ndekwaVaMnangagwa. Saka ini ndinomira nevanoda kumira shure kwangu, VaMnangagwa vomira nevavo. Even if it means kuti vavakuita party yavo vega. Hatinyengerere vanhu, nomatter who. Zvasvika zvino pakuti tichiita final decision. Tirikuenda kumaelections tirikuenda kucongress, ndiko kwatichaita final decision.” Vana [Lovemore] Matuke murichii? Okay, go away, we go our way.”    

13:57 – Cde Chipanga back on the podium. Directing the message to the Party’s Secretary for Administration, Dr Ignatius Chombo, Cde Chipanga says last week he handed over a petition from the Bulawayo Provincial Youth League, recommending the expulsion of one, Charumbira. He points at Charumbira and says he is making noise during address by leaders. He says, Bulawayo nolonger wants him, the National Youth League also no longer wants him in its ranks, but the Politburo is “hesitant to expel such rotten eggs.”

13:48 – Dr Mugabe says all the past Vice President such as Dr Joshua Nkomo, Cde John Nkomo, Dr Simon Muzenda and Cde Joseph Musika respected President Mugabe as the only centre of power. “Asi pakangouya vaviri ava, tava kuona nyonga nyonga, asi kwete kubva kunaVaMphoko and asi kunaVaMnangagwa.”

13:47 – Dr Mugabe says the party’s constitution will be amended this November ahead of the extra-ordinary congress in December. She says the Women’s League will also meet this month to choose a candidate. “Vamwe ndovanoti VaMugabe vanoda kuisa mudzimai wavo pahuVice President. Hanzi hee dynasty, dynasty, isu semadzimai tinosarudza watinoda. Even ndikapinda zvakaipei, kohanditi ndiri nhengo yemusangano just like anyone else.” 

13:46 – “Constitution yedu yakanga yakanaka ichitaura kuti Vice President mumwechete anofanira kunge arimukadzi. Zvakachinjwa pakadzingwa Mai Mujuru pakapinda VaMnangagwa. Varikuziziva kuti position yedu tavakuida back.”

13:42 – She says VP Mnangagwa is dividing the party through leading a faction. He accuses Cde Mnangagwa of leading to the expulsion of several party members who are pursuing his factional agenda. 

13:41 – On Cde Saviour Kasukuwere, Dr Mugabe says there is no wrong in having siblings in the party as a precedence was set by VP Mnangagwa when he left a constituency seat to his wife. 

13:39 – She says she is not afraid to speak the truth, even if soldiers are to shot her for that.

13:37 – Dr Mugabe speaks on Professor Jonathan Moyo’s fallout with Vice President Mnangagwa. She says at some point, the two worked to form a party called United People’s Movement. She says now VP Mnangagwa wants Prof. Moyo to be arrested for exposing him especially after the so called ZIMDEF saga.  

13:35 – She says focus of the leadership should be on economic revival and development instead of leadership squabbles and factionalism.

13:33 – Dr Mugabe slams people who were blocking other people from coming to the rally.

13:32 – She thanks the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services led by Cde Supa Mandiwanzira for the information centres initiative. Remember, information centres have been launched in all the country’s provinces where the interface rallies have been held.

13:30 – The First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe addresses the rally.

Cde Chipanga

13:21 –  Cde Chipanga says the Youth League supports the call for an extra-ordinary congress in December. He says the youth also supports the call to have a female vice president, adding that the December extra-ordinary congress is an opportunity to amend the party’s constitution and effect the desired change on the presidium. 

13:17 – Cde Chipanga also urges the government to employ National Youth Service graduates, who have been on contract since around 2003, on a permanent basis.

13:16 – Cde Chipanga says most industries have closed in Bulawayo, and he urges the government to ensure that Bulawayo benefits most from the Special Economic Zones initiative to revive the industries.

13:13 –  Cde Chipanga addresses the rally, urges youths to register to vote. He asks President Mugabe and the Zanu PF leadership to avail vehicles to the Youth League to enable them to move around encouraging people to vote.

12:55 – After Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Dr Ignatius Chombo greets the people, urging them to register to vote, Cde Chipanga invites Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko and his wife to greet the people. Then comes Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his wife.

12:48 – Before the introductions, Cde Chipanga invites to the podium, war veterans leader, Cde Patrick Nyaruwata to introduce some of the senior war veterans and leaders present at the rally. Through the party slogans, Cde Nyaruwata re-affirms war veterans’ support to the leadership of Cde Mugabe.  

12:45 – Party representatives and Minister, among them Professor Jonathan Moyo, Cde Eunice Sandi Moyo and Cde Chiratidzo Mabuwa, chant party slogans to greet the people of Bulawayo. Cde Hamandishe then asks Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Kudzanayi Chipanga to introduce Central Committee and Politburo members. 

12:41 – Cde Hamandishe thanks President Mugabe for reshuffling his cabinet, saying the high turnout of ministers at the rally is a sign that they now know what ‘one centre of power’ means.

12:34 – Before the prayer, Bishop Ndanga slams the false prophet, who had claimed that President Mugabe would die on 17 October 2017, saying all prophets of doom continue to be shamed by Cde Mugabe’s life. He also hails the President for challenging US President Donald Trump to stop bullying the world. 

12:32 – Zanu PF Youth League National Political Commissar, Cde Innocent Hamandishe is the MC and he invites ACCZ President, Bishop Johannes Ndanga to give an opening prayer.

12:30 –  Everyone is up for the singing of the National Anthem.

12:18 – As President Mugabe greets thousands of supporters by moving around the stadium in an open vehicle, the famous ‘Jongwe Rinorira Rimwechete,’ song is sounding.  

12:14 –  The interface rally begins with the arrival of President Robert Mugabe at White City Stadium. ZBC TV is bringing the event live and you can watch it form the comfort of your homes.

11:30 – Looking ahead:

Preparations for the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe and indigenous churches to be held at Rufaro Stadium in Harare tomorrow are at an advanced stage. The organising committee was at the venue assessing progress.

11:20 – Cde Kudzanayi Chipanga, Cde Anastancia Ndlovu, Cde Kembo Mohadi, Cde Tabeth Kanengoni Malinga, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi and Cde Letina Undenge, among others are at White City Stadium.

08:30 – People already trickling into White City Stadium for the 9th Presidential Youth Interface Rally. The stadium has been painted white by the t-shirts.


The Presidential Youth Interface voyage continues today with 9th leg roaring into life today at White City Stadium in Bulawayo Province.

The journey started on June 3 at Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera, Mashonaland East. June 16, the journey took the Zanu PF Youth League to Sakubva Stadium in Mutare, Manicaland Province.

The 3rd leg was held at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo Province.

Next it was Somhlolo stadium in Lupane, Matabeleland North which played host to the 4th Presidential Youth Interface Rally on July 21.

The 5th was at the Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) grounds in Mashonaland West Province on the 29th of July.

Matabeleland South provincial capital, Gwanda,hosted the 6th Presidential Youth Interface Rally at Phelandaba stadium on the 12th of August.

The 7th Interface Rally was to follow just outside Mkoba Teachers College, in Gweru in the Midlands Province. Mashonaland Central Province played host to the 8th rally at Chipadze Stadium in Bindura town. This meant that only 2 provinces were still pending – Bulawayo and Harare.

Today, the Zanu PF Youth League and its entourage descend on Bulawayo, White City stadium to be specific.

As early as 6:30.am people started trickling into the stadium, and it looks set to be another highly subscribed rally, judging from the numbers already inside White City and those still queuing outside.
