The RBZ Sports Club was a hive of activity as the Castle Lager held 5-a-side national finals to select players for the 2018 World Cup showpiece set for Russia next month.

The exercise to select a 5-a-side team to represent the country in Russia reached a home stretch following the hosting of the national finals involving teams from different parts of the country.

Local legend and 5-a-side brand ambassador Tinashe Nengomasha heaped praises on the level of competition displayed by the players.

“The exercise went on well despite the short time frame for the exercise. I am quite impressed with the level of competition displayed by the players here,” he said.

Castle Lager brand manager Stanley Meck said plans are afoot towards the setting of a 5-a-side national league as evidenced by the overwhelming response to the tournament.

“As Castle we won’t hesitate to bring people together with a national league,” said Meck.

Six players were selected to represent the country at the 2018 Russia World Cup finals.
