Technology is the newest player in deciding state politics, hence the youth must use it responsibly to safeguard the nation.
The message came out during a graduation ceremony of 45 children of Zimbabwe National War Veterans Association from Mashonaland East Province who underwent an end user computing programme.
Guest speaker at the event, Cde Victor Matemadanda urged the graduates to adopt technology even in guarding the sovereignty of the nation.
“Technology based platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are being used to denigrate leaders, but I am saying to you, use them for development,”
The Zanu PF leadership at the graduation ceremony spoke highly on the need for students to advance their education, while IQEAC Training College Director, Chipo Muvezwa highlighted some of the areas like computer, word essentials and social media management that the course encompassed.
“We gave them wide range of knowledge and we covered various topics,” she said.
The graduates, who were presented with certificates in end user computing, could not hide their joy, acknowledging that they now live in a fast changing global village and their lives are now centred on the use of computers.
