A total of 43 babies were delivered in the three major referral centres in Harare and Chitungwiza as the country commemorates the 87th birthday of the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe.
This is according to statistics released by midday on Monday.
It was all joy as mothers celebrated the birth of their babies, which coincided with the birthday of President Robert Mugabe.
It was indeed a 21st February babies galore in Harare and Chitungwiza major hospitals.
Parirenyatwa Hospital scored 10, Chitungwiza 11, while the mother of all deliveries was at Harare Central Hospital where 21 births were recorded.
To share a birthday with President Mugabe is a joy to cherish for most mothers who were ecstatic.
Others were delighted and expressed hope that their children will emulate the wholesome character of President Mugabe, whom many describe as a great pan-Africanists and a champion of economic empowerment.
So much hope for these mothers entrapped in these innocent newly born and who knows, from such humble beginnings, maybe a future Head of State was among them!
