Four maternity blocks have been constructed at different clinics in the Runde district to ease the shortage of waiting facilities for expecting mothers.

The absence of waiting facilities for expecting mothers has presented a challenge in various parts of the country.

In the reality of that challenge Zvishavane-Runde legislator Engineer Fred Moyo set out a programme to build the facilities in different clinics. 

At Matenda Clinic the project is almost complete and is expected to open its doors to expecting mothers in January 2018.

A traditional leader in the area Chief Mpakame said providing waiting facilities for expecting mothers is an important initiative in the community.

The drive to ensure maternal health care delivery is among national development targets seeking to promote the well being of women in the nation.
