31 members from 12 SADC countries graduated with certificates after completing a two week course aimed at enhancing peace missions training capacities for member states while at the same time broadening instructional base for standby force for the region.
The SADC Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre (RPTC) has a mandate to build and sustain peace missions’ capacities for the SADC standby force.
It is against this background that 31 members from the region graduated after completing a two week integrated training of trainers’ course.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, guest of honour DRC representative Mrs Jacquie Boketsu Katuala complemented the graduates for taking part in a peace keeping course saying it is crucial in United Nations and African Union peace keeping missions.
The graduates promised to cascade skills they obtained to their respective countries.
The course targeted civilians, military, police and corrections personnel at senior and middle management level from Angola, Botswana, DRC, Madagascar, Malawi and Zimbabwe among others.
