Musha Mukadzi charitable organisation has called for collaborative efforts in the fight against cancer, a disease which is fast becoming one of the biggest killers in Africa.

Founder and Chairperson of the organisation, Mrs Marry Chiwenga told guests who gathered in Harare’s Borrowdale Brooke for a fundraising dinner last night that the activities of the foundation are meant to assist the needy.

Mrs Chiwenga began her address to the guests by chronicling the history of the foundation and its determination to continue assisting the needy, particularly cancer patients.

As part of its determination to assist the needy, Musha Mukadzi has created a wellness centre in Harare which will offer various cancer services.

The foundation has helped a number of young cancer patients and three of them have since succumbed to the disease.

In addition to taking care of cancer patients, the organisation in March 2015 offered free eye surgery to villagers in Wedza and is continuing with the philanthropic work.

Entertainment at the fundraising dinner was provided by Tendai Dembo and Doctor Malinga who both kept the guests on their feet with their songs.
