A 30 year-old woman from Marange who allegedly stole 22 cattle at Arda Transau grazing area in Odzi has appeared in court facing eight counts of stock theft.

She was granted $400 bail and remanded to June 26.

Priscilla Chinyowa from Muwoko village under Chief Marange appeared before Mutare Magistrate Sekai Chiundura.

The state represented by Prosecutor Chris Munyuku, alleged that during the period between March 2018 to January 2019  Chinyowa with her accomplice, Paul Manyasha used the same modus operandi in stealing heifers from Arda Transau.

The court heard that they would go during the day while the cattle will be grazing and steal the heifers.

It is alleged that they would then take the stolen heifers to Chinyowa’s homestead in Muwoko village under Chief Marange for safe keeping while they looked for buyers.

Chinyowa was apprehended after she was found in possession of some of the stolen heifers.
