A man from Chiyanike village was murdered by fellow drinkers at Nenguo business centre yesterday night after a misunderstanding.
According to eyewitnesses the man identified as Phillip Mutambu aged 30 of Chiyanike village was having a beer drink with Tazvitya Chiyangwa aged 29 of farm no 69 Chimbwanda small scale farming area and Emmanuel Vhelemu aged 20 of the same village.
The deceased and the two accused and other patrons are said to have been drinking at a bottle store before a fight broke out.
Vhelemu is said to have given Chiyangwa an okapi knife which he later used to attack the deceased when the fight resumed at a nearby bottle store.
The deceased was stabbed on the left side of the stomach just below the rib cage.
He collapsed and died on the spot.
A report was made at Mahusekwa Police who arrested the accused while the body was taken to Marondera Provincial Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Police could not be reached for comment.
