pirated cds.jpgA 23-year old Harare woman, Shorai Nyawo, who is facing charges of contravening some sections of the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act, has been given free bail by Harare magistrate, Dony Ndirowei.

 

Nyawo was found in possession of 84 copies of pirated DVDs which she was selling without the authority of the owner.

 

Another suspect, Regis Sanangura who is out on bail, has also appeared before the same magistrate facing similar charges.

 

Sanangura was found in possession of 103 copies of DVDs, MP3s and CDs.

 

Another Harare man, Bob Madembo who appeared in court and is also out on bail, was found in possession of 190 copies of material believed to be pirated and computers designed to make duplicate copies of DVDs.
