Residents of Matobo district have expressed joy at being this year’s hosts of the 21st February Movement celebrations saying they are going all out to prove their love and support for President Robert Mugabe.

Hospitality, warmth and joy is what the people of Matobo are promising the thousands of people who will descend in the district for the 21st February Movement celebrations set for the 25th of this month.

Speaking to the ZBC News in Maphisa, the residents say they are privileged to join President Mugabe in celebrating his 93rd birthday celebrations while the youths feel the occasion will give them an opportunity to learn more about the revered leader.

Expectations are also high among the locals that the challenges that are faced in the district which include poor road infrastructure and the need for food aid in some areas will be highlighted to the President.

16 lorries and six buses will be used to ferry the at least 20 000 people from Matobo who are expected to attend the event.

Local artists such as Zonda Mthakathi and other groups from the district will be afforded an opportunity to showcase the rich culture of the rainbow province.
