The 2019 Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) staff college academic year has been officially opened this Wednesday (today) in Harare, with a curriculum set to transform the police force into a modern institution which provides quality service to its clients.
197 police staff have been enrolled to take part in the ZRP academic year, which has various programmes including a Diploma in Adult Education, Diploma in Law, Diploma in Public Relations and a Diploma in Business Management, as part of the police rebranding process.
ZRP Commissioner General, Godwin Matanga encouraged both the academic and administrative staff to continue conducting themselves professionally, with due diligence to academic ethics, in order to maintain the good reputation of the police.
“I urge you to be fully committed so that our rebranding programme becomes fruitful,” said Commissioner Matanga.
ZRP staff college principal Commissioner Charity Charamba commended the efforts made by the police hierarchy to achieve government’s vision of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper middle-class economy by 2030.
The government has mobilised resources to capacitate ZRP programmes as the force pursues a rebranding exercise.
