The Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association is set to get the ball rolling for the 2019 season with a talent identification tournament on Saturday in Harare.

Hundreds of kickboxers drawn from various teams in all the country’s provinces are set to converge at St George’s College for the event dubbed ‘The anniversary kickboxing talent identification tournament’.

Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association President Tony Kamangira revealed that expectations were high for a huge turnout at the event also being used to scout for talented fighters to represent the country in upcoming tournaments.

The country has recorded numerous successes in the past with the association being of the opinion that more talent still remains untapped, hence coming up with such events.

It was also revealed that the sport was surging towards a growth path with improved participation from professional, amateur and novice fighters.
