JUST IN: Pres ED leaves for FOCAC Summit

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has left for Beijing, China where he has been invited by his Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping to attend the 7th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit. The two heads of state are also scheduled to hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the summit. President Mnangagwa who is accompanied by the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa, government ministers and Zanu PF Politburo members left Harare late this afternoon. ZIMRA implored to address border challenges

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority has been urged to address delays being experienced at the Beitbridge Border Post which stakeholders say are costing them and the nation huge sums of money. Transporters and clearing agents said the delays at the border post are unbearable. At an indaba held recently, the transporters and clearing agents cited issues such as delays in clearing trucks and shortage of staff at ZIMRA as the biggest threat to the ease of doing business at one of Africa’s busiest ports of entry.
