Angel of Hope donates 50 laptops to school

The Angel of Hope Foundation has donated 50 laptops to Rufaro Mission School in Masvingo, in a move that is expected to ensure the school keeps up with technological trends in their learning programmes. Trojan teachers evicted from mine accommodation

Trojan Mine has evicted primary school teachers from staff accommodation after a decision by the mine management leaving some teachers stranded. Four Trojan Mine Primary School teachers have so far been evicted out of 17 whose staff accommodation was withdrawn by the mine following the implementation of a decision by its management made a few years ago. Some of the teachers were caught by surprise saying the matter was still before the courts with an interdict to stop evictions having been issued in July. In a telephone interview, Zimbabwe Teachers Association Chief Executive Officer Mr Sifiso Ndlovu condemned the move as it violates a policy which mandates mine schools to provide accommodation for teachers. He said the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education should intervene by suspending the school while urging the Public Service Commission to take action. Accept ConCourt decision: Ramaphosa

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged Zimbabwean leaders to accept the decision of the country’s Constitutional Court which upheld President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent election victory. The court validated the results as released by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) on the 3rd of this month. In a statement, Ramaphosa’s spokesperson Khusela Diko, said the President has also congratulated Zimbabwe’s President-elect on his victory. Ambassador Trudy Stevenson dies 

Zimbabwe’s ambassador to the Gambia and Senegal, Mrs Trudy Stevenson, has died. Mrs Stevenson died in Senegal early yesterday. The Director Policy Research, Communication and Training in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Gideon Gapare confirmed the death.
