Tobacco mop up sales set for tomorrow

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) has set this Tuesday the 21st of August as the date for mop up sales to enable farmers who have not finished selling their tobacco to deliver the last crop. Chinhoyi hospital produces best student

Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital School of Nursing claimed a spot on the map after two of its student nurses made it to the top four after the national final examinations, with one of them clinching a gold medal.  For the first time, the school clinched a gold medal in the registered general nurse training national examinations, with Tapiwa Nhayitayi having been adjudged the best student nationwide. Phoebe Mburundu , also from the same school of nursing, came up the 4th best student, and missed the silver medal by a mere 4 marks, and bronze by 3 and a half marks. Nhayitayi and Mburundu attributed their achievements to hard work and team work and said the results will certainly put the Chinhoyi Hospital School of Nursing on the map. A senioe tutor at the school, Mr Sylvester Bizurel said it is the first time the school has clinched gold, while his counterpart, Mr Justice Gonese attributed the results to better coordination between the students and staff. 19 students from the school were among those from other institutions across the country who sat for the final examinations and only one failed, drawing down the pass...

Parties to the election petition by the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa met today at the Constitutional Court Registry to consolidate the record in preparation for the hearing of the challenge on Wednesday. The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has opened offices in Marondera, a development set to ensure that Mashonaland East Province contributes to the country’s economy through payment of taxes. ZIMRA Commissioner General, Ms Faith Mazani told guests at the official opening of the authority’s new offices that the development firmly puts the province as a major player in the local economy through payment of taxes. “The opening of these new offices shows that Mashonaland East is a big player in the country’s economy. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has given the Zimbabwean ‘A’ level student who scooped the 2nd prize in the SADC essay competition an additional US$2000 on top of the US$1000 that she was awarded by the regional block.
