Cotton output doubles   

Cotton production has surpassed last year’s output with over 112 000 tonnes delivered so far to COTTCO depots countrywide. Gold production up 72%

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) says the country’s January to July gold output stood at 20,8 tonnes, reflecting a 72 percent increase compared to 12,1 tonnes produced in the same period last year. In an update on the state of the gold mining sector, RBZ Governor, Dr John Mangudya said incentives being put in place for the gold miners are bearing positive results. Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Dr Sibusiso Moyo says contrary to social media reports that the military is involved in beatings in Chitungwiza and Kuwadzana, there is no such exercise that has been sanctioned for the forces but if such things are happening it could be some elements who are impersonating the soldiers and going around Harare harassing members of the public.
