The First Lady Mrs Auxillia Mnangagwa paid a surprise visit to one of the country’s largest referral hospitals, Harare Hospital, to get an appreciation of challenges affecting the health institution.
Dressed like every other ordinary Zimbabwean woman, Amai Mnangagwa made an impromptu visit at “Gomo” as the hospital is affectionately known, to get an appreciation of the service rendered and experiences of ordinary Zimbabweans in search for medical attention.
Oblivious of her presence, the hospital staff went ahead with their usual duties while the First lady also went through the normal procedures purporting to seek medical attention.
The First Lady shared the bench with fellow patients and had time to mingle and chat with children and the elderly to understand their experiences.
In his inauguration speech, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said it should no longer be business as usual.
With this speech still vivid in the minds of many, one wonders what impressions the First Lady got about this famed Zimbabwean hospital.
