The Zimbabwe national cricket team’s focus is now on their scheduled tour of South Africa where the Chevrons will clash with the Proteas in a four day test match.

After facing the West Indies in their last test encounter, the Zimbabwe cricket team will have an opportunity of proving themselves against tough opposition when they clash with South Africa in a day/night test match which gets underway on boxing day.

Zimbabwe Cricket communications manager Darlington Majonga said the four day test is a vital platform for the Chevrons who have been starved of test cricket.

A training squad has already begun preparations as the nation awaits the release of the squad that will tour South Africa.

The Chevrons will play a South Africa XI in a three day warm up from 20-22 December before locking horns with the Proteas in a four day test match which was given a green light by the International Cricket Council
