The President and Commander–in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has congratulated the ZDF for effectively carrying out its constitutional mandate of maintaining peace and stability within Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony for joint command and staff course number 30 at the Zimbabwe Staff College in Harare today, Cde Mnangagwa said this has over the years been enhanced through continuous training and widening of professional competencies which are at the core of ZDF’s administrative policy.
He said such emphasis on training and development has over the years enabled the ZDF to develop a wide range of critical skills across both public and private sector administration, resulting in a versatile defence force.
The joint command and staff course number 30 commenced on the 16th of January this year with a total number of 56 officers, two of whom withdrew along the way leaving 54 graduating today.
The Zimbabwe National Army contributed the largest number of students with 28 officers followed by the Air Force of Zimbabwe with ten, the President’s department with two while the ZRP and the Prisons and Correctional Services had one each.
The remaining 12 were from other SADC allied countries as well as Nigeria.
