Ministry of Health and Child Care says the 21 people who died in an accident at Jimila Business Centre in Tsholotsho yesterday evening were part of a 71-member Matabeleland North provincial crew of indoor residual spray operators and supervisors who were on duty spraying homes to control malaria.

In a statement, Secretary for Health and Child Care, Brigadier General Dr Gerald Gwinji said the ministry is saddened by the loss and would like to express its condolences to families who lost their loved ones.

He said the ministry and the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) are in the process of informing relatives of those involved in the accident.

Dr Gwinji also thanked various people and organisations for coming on board to offer different commodities needed as the situation is being attended to.
