Prices of most farm produce at Mbare musika vegetable market are on a downward trend with tomatoes, mazhanje, watermelons and mangoes flooding the market at the onset of the rainy season.
Farmers and traders who spoke to the ZBC News said the rains have led to flooding of the market with some seasonal crops like vegetables and fruits causing their prices to go down.
Cabbages were trading at 40 cents per head.
The price of potatoes was pegged at $8 for a 10kg pocket with onions and butternuts fetching $2.50 for a 10kg pocket.
Watermelons were ranging from 50cents per head to $4 while mazhanje were priced at $5 per bucket.
Half a dozen mangoes and apples as well as a bunch of 12 bananas were pegged at $1.
