A total of 55 graduands were conferred with certificates and diplomas in defence and security and in adult education at a graduation ceremony held at the Zimbabwe Staff College today.

Speaking during the 9th graduation ceremony of the Zimbabwe Staff College, Secretary for Defence Mr Martin Rushwaya said the strides made will help the military to be up-to-date in terms of global military training trends.

“Our vision is to assist the staff college to become a world class training centre offering several degrees relevant to the defence and security sector” said University of Zimbabwe Vice Chancellor Proffessor Levi Nyagura.

One of the graduands Squadron leader Alex Chiduwa from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces said the knowledge attained enlightened him on defence and crucial security affairs.

The graduation ceremony was graced by Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces General Constantino Chiwenga, Commander Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Philip Valerio Sibanda, Commissioner General of Police Dr Augustine Chihuri and senior army officers, staff and graduands’ families.
