The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has promoted 259 Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) officers ranging from the rank of commissioner to  principal correctional officers.

Speaking during the conferment of badges of rank to 14 senior officers who are part of the 249 officers promoted by President Mnangagwa, ZPCS Commissioner General Paradzai Zimondi urged ZPCS members to come up with innovative ways that sustain the organisation.

The senior officers pledged to execute their duties with due diligence and loyalty.

The President also promoted 21 chief superintendents to the rank of assistant commissioners, 25 superintendents to the rank of chief superintendents, 36 chief correctional officers to the rank of superintendents, 63 principal correctional officers to the rank of chief correctional officers and 100 assistant principal correctional officers to the rank of principal correctional officers.

In line with the government’s gender policy ZPCS female officers are also given equal opportunity like their male counterparts on taking supervisory posts.
